HISTORIA
Argumento 2061, 50 años después de que la humanidad desarrollara la "sociedad en red" que depende de las redes de información a pesar de los problemas de seguridad que conllevan. Para mejorar la seguridad, se desarrolla una nueva red llamada Meta-Real, Metal para abreviar. Los recuerdos de la gente se reducen a simple información y se introducen en "enclaves ciber-orgánicos virtuales protegidos" llamadas Bubbles. El resultado es una explosión virtual de libertad creativa al sentirse la gente suficientemente a salvo para explorar instintos y deseos en Metal que no explorarían en la vida real. Esta fricción entre la atractiva falta de restricciones en Metal y la realidad plagada de reglas lleva a problemas e incidentes de los que se hacen cargo los llamados Divers. El protagonista, Masamichi Haru, es uno de ellos.
